About Miquon

Head of School - Geetha Holdsworth

Welcome to The Miquon School, a Progressive school serving children from preschool through sixth grade. We are so glad you found us. 

As you explore Miquon, I hope you begin to see what makes this community so special. Children spend their days asking thoughtful questions, building meaningful relationships, exploring our woods and creek, and discovering the joy that comes from learning by doing. Every experience is grounded in the values that shape our community: compassion, curiosity, challenge, joy, and, above all, ensuring that every child is seen and known as a whole person.

I joined Miquon because I was drawn to the unmistakable sense of joy that fills our campus. It comes from students playing in the beautiful outdoors; from connecting with friends, teachers, and staff; and from the adventure that comes from learning about one’s self, each other, and our community.

Our students move through campus with confidence, purpose, and growing independence because they are surrounded by adults who know them well and believe deeply in their potential. And like true artisans, our teachers plan, craft and develop, with great intention, students’ experiences based on their astute understanding of the developmental needs of the children in their care. 

This is what we mean by being seen and known as a student and a person. The strong sense of self, nurtured by our teachers and in partnership with families, is what empowers our graduates to leave our campus with skills and a sense to do what is needed for the good of the community.
