One child. One day. One photograph.
Connie Devlin, a parent of 2 Miquon graduates and the person who greets you from her busy desk as you walk into the school office, came up with a brilliant idea last summer. She wanted to document the entire school year through the eyes of the students. The exciting part of this story is that she actually followed through on her brilliant idea, unlike most of the rest of us. So she put a simple camera loaded with black-and-white film into the hands of a different child every single day from the beginning of school. By the time the year was over, all of the children in the school had a chance to take pictures of whatever attracted their attention. Connie's husband Gary spent many hours developing and printing the pictures. Starting on Sunday, September 17, we'll all have a chance to see one from each school day in the form of a major exhibition at the Owen/Patrick Gallery, 4345 Main Street, in Manayunk (Philadelphia) .
